Tour of Istanbul Start List : The 3rd edition starts with 16 teams from 13 countries with 121 professional cyclists
The opening prologue of Stage 1 of Tour of Istanbul is set to begin at 11:00 AM on September 4th , with riders departing at one-minute intervals. The short but technical course promises excitement, as the rolling profile will test both skill and endurance from the very start.
Due to the challenging and undulating terrain, TT bikes and aerodynamic helmets will not be permitted. Instead, all riders must use standard road equipment. In addition, support cars will not follow the cyclists but will be allowed to remain parked in designated stationary positions along the course.
Since there are no sprint or climb primes in Stage 1, the first set of leader jerseys will instead be awarded during the official podium ceremony. The jersey allocations are as follows:
- Orange Jersey (General Classification Leader): 1st Place
- Blue Jersey (Best Sprinter): 2nd Place
- Green Jersey (King of the Mountains): 3rd Place
- White Jersey : Best Young Rider in GC
