The opening stage of the International Tour of Istanbul began on September 4 at 11:00 a.m. in Beykoz with a 7.5-kilometer prologue. Organized under the coordination of the Turkish Cycling Federation and the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye, with the support of the Governorship of Istanbul, district municipalities, Spor Toto Organization, UCI, and Shimano, the race saw 16 teams and 121 riders from 13 countries take the start.
The prologue started with riders setting off at one-minute intervals. The short yet technical course added great excitement to the race by testing both skill and endurance from the very beginning. Due to the challenging, undulating terrain, time-trial bikes and aerodynamic helmets were not used; all riders competed with standard road equipment.
Jerseys Awarded
The first leader jerseys were awarded during the podium ceremony. Oliver Mattheis of Team Bike Aid became the overall leader with a time of 09:57.76, earning the orange jersey. Since there were no sprint or climb points in this stage, the jerseys were distributed in a special format: the blue jersey went to the second-place rider, the green jersey to the third, and the white jersey to the best young rider in the general classification.

The jerseys were presented at the podium ceremony by Beykoz District Governor Dr. Fatih Ürkmezer, Turkish Cycling Federation President Emin Müftüoğlu, TCF Vice President Metin Cengiz, and TCF Board Member Sami Ağaoğlu.
Tour of İstanbul’un Birinci Etabı Beykoz’da Başladı
Uluslararası Tour of İstanbul’un açılış etabı, 4 Eylül’de saat 11.00’de Beykoz’da koşulan 7,5 kilometrelik prolog ile başladı. Türkiye Bisiklet Federasyonu koordinasyonunda, T.C. Gençlik ve Spor Bakanlığı himayesinde, İstanbul Valiliği, ilçe belediyeleri, Spor Toto Teşkilat Başkanlığı, UCI ve Shimano’nun destekleriyle düzenlenen organizasyonda 13 ülkeden 16 takım ve 121 sporcu start aldı.
Etabın açılış prologu, sporcuların birer dakikalık aralıklarla start almasıyla gerçekleşti. Kısa ama teknik parkur, en başından itibaren hem beceriyi hem de dayanıklılığı test ederek yarışa büyük bir heyecan kattı.
Formalar Sahiplerini Buldu Etap sonunda ilk lider formaları, podyum töreninde sahiplerini buldu. Bike Aid takımından Oliver Mattheis, 09.57.76 süresiyle genel klasman birincisi oldu ve turuncu formayı giydi.

Etap sonunda düzenlenen podyum töreninde formaları Beykoz Kaymakamı Dr. Fatih Ürkmezer, Türkiye Bisiklet Federasyonu Başkanı Emin Müftüoğlu, Türkiye Bisiklet Federasyonu Asbaşkanı Metin Cengiz ve Türkiye Bisiklet Federasyonu Üyesi Sami Ağaoğlu takdim etti.
