Countdown to Tour of İstanbul Begins: City Prepares to Host Cycling Stars

Excitement is building for the Tour of İstanbul, one of the premier events on the international cycling calendar. As final preparations are underway for the race, scheduled to take place from September 4-7, 2025, the eyes of the cycling world will be on İstanbul. This major race, held under the auspices of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Youth and Sports and as part of the UCI Europe Tour, will transform the city into a hub of cycling festivities for four days.
This year’s tour will feature 135 professional cyclists from 17 teams and 13 different countries. The riders will compete for the championship over challenging stages that showcase both the natural beauty and the rich history of İstanbul. The details of the four-day competition are as follows:

Stage 1 (Thursday, September 4): The tour will begin in Beykoz with a 7.5 km opening stage.

Stage 2 (Friday, September 5): Cyclists will face one of the tour’s toughest days in Şile , with 2,333 meters of climbing over a distance of 150.1 km.

Stage 3 (Saturday, September 6): In Arnavutköy , the longest stage of the tour, athletes will test their endurance on the 165.7 km course.

Stage 4 (Sunday, September 7): On the final day, when the champion will be decided, the race will move to Fatih, the heart of the Historic Peninsula. The tour will conclude with this final 94.3 km stage.
